For those who were offended by my (somewhat) one-sided Sucker Punch review, here’s me making it up to you lot. The following are weapons that appeared in the movie. If you are a gun nut (like my cousin, Zach) you’ll probably be pissing in your pants. Anyway, I’ve held you for too long already.
M1911 A1 — In the first dream world (Act I from my review), Babydoll receives this sweet little baby from The Wise Man (Spock) after she meet’s with him inside the temple. It is also the same handgun she used when she tried to shoot her stepfather. It was black and didn’t have them cutesy stuff hanging down.
Flintlock Pistol — The pistol is one of Rocket’s sidearm, although I’ve never seen her fire it once. She’s shown using it as a bludgeon in the World War II dream world (Act II from my review) against a zombie Nazi (Helghast). I swear she’d use it to blast that sorry arse’s head off though. I guess I was wrong.
Remington 870 — During the KITCHEN KNIFE bomb dream sequence (that Final Fantasy XIII act from my review), Sweet Pea uses this pump-action shotgun to blast them automatons upon breaching the train. It is equipped with a tactical light, breaching muzzle and an M4 Super 90 (Benelli M4) stock look-alike. I kinda dig her spaulders more though.
Heckler & Koch MP7A1 — When I first saw the scene where Babydoll, Rocket and Sweet Pea were entering the dragon’s lair (Act III from my review) I immediately identified Babydoll’s weapon as a H&K. The model however, I didn’t know. I was this close to mistaking it as a Steyr TMP (sui cheong as how my friend, Neo would call it) armed with a surpressor.
Heckler & Koch MP5K — The MP5 is a weapon many of you Counter-Strike fans will recognize in an instance. Blondie uses this SMG during the World War II dream sequence against the zombie Nazis. The MP5K is actually a shortened version of the MP5A2; the K of the MP5K coming from the German word Kurz which means short.
Heckler & Koch UMP-45 — Another familar SMG for Counter-Strike fans. The UMP (Universale Maschinenpistole, German for “Universal Machine Pistol”) is a firearm used by Rocket seen here during the World War II dream sequence. It is equipped with a foregrip and a Sightmark SureShot reflex sight.
M4A1 — The M4 carbine is another one of Sweet Pea’s firearms. During the KITCHEN KNIFE bomb dream sequence, the M4 can be seen slung around her back while she uses the 870. She uses the M4 during the World War II and Dragon’s Lair dream sequence. A suppressor can be seen equipped on her M4 during some of her battles.
Lewis Gun — The Lewis Gun or Lewis Automated Machine Gun is a World War I era light machine gun of American design that was perfected and widely used by the British Empire. During the World War II dream sequence, Babydoll uses the Lewis to take down a blimp (I called it a Hindenburg in my review) which exploded into a ball of fire.
M61 Vulcan — The M61 appears twice in the movie, both time are modified versions of the original. The first is during Act I where Babydoll fights against the 3 giant demon samurais. One of then is seen holding a giant modified M61. The second M61 appears as a modified attachment to one of Amber’s “Bunny Gundam” Mecha’s arm.
Daewoo K3 — A light machine gun used by Blondie during the World War II dream sequence. Her K3 is equipped with a rail forearm and vertical grip. The K3 is inspired by the FN Minimi and the US-issued M249 SAW. This little sucker really packs a punch but the kickback on this thing is crazy!
Short Magazine Lee-Enfield — A shorter and lighter version of the MLE. The SMLE (or Smelly) was the main battle rifle of British and Commonwealth forces during World War I. It is seen in the movie being carried by (British?) soldiers during the World War II dream sequence.
M1903 Springfield — The Wise Man (Spock) uses an 03A4 Springfield during the initial stages of the World War II dream sequence, where he explains to the girls how the Germans are reanimating the dead into steampunk-ish zombie Nazis (Helghast). The Springfield is an American clip-fed, 5-shot, bolt action service rifle used primarily during the first half of the 20th century.
Browning M2HB — The M2 is a .50 cal heavy machine gun that was designed towards the end of World War I by John Browning. The M2HB in the movie is manned by Blondie during the Dragon’s Lair dream sequence. It is used during the air battle with the dragon in which Blondie shouts, “Take that, you ugly mother–“.
Browning M1919A4 — The M1919 is a .30 cal medium machine gun that was widely used during the 20th century. In total, there were six variants of the M1919 machine gun. The most common of the series was the M1919A4. The M1919A4 was used in both fixed and flexible mounts, by infantry and on vehicles. It was also widely exported after World War II and continues to be used in small numbers around the world. In the movie, it is mounted to the back of the plane and is seen being chambered by Blondie during the air battle with the dragon before the dragon rips apart the tail section of the plane.
